Keynote: Realization of the Multi Dimensions Manufacturing at Honda
The deployment of planned Virtual Factory concept with our basic philosophy "human-centralized factory" to our Real Factory
A good factory produces successful products. The successful products energize the factory. The integration of the commercial product design domain and the mass production shop floor is now essential to the automotive production." Based on this our fundamental philosophy, last year, we introduced our 7D concept for advanced factory management which extended from the traditional 3D concept, and also described our attempt of "Multi Dimensions Manufacturing." Today, I will introduce how we have implemented our planned "Virtual Factory”" with the 7D concept to our "Real Factory," and show you some demonstrations.

Special Speech: Design for Manufacturing
The purpose of Design for Manufacturing is to systematically analyze products, or a product concept, to ensure optimal manufacturability with Nokia´s manufacturing processes, focusing on total cost and quality. DFM is divided into separate areas such as Board Assembly, Final Assembly, Testing and Packaging. This presentation will be focused primarily on Final assembly and how to use 3D between mechanical design and Design of Final Assembly work.
Nokia is using CATIA (at the moment) as a primary mechanical tool and we are now implementing DELMIA as a process tool to bring 3D for other related areas with links. The latest data between both solutions is shared worldwide using a SmarTeam database.

Case Study: MHI’s Approach to Optimized Assembly Methods by utilizing Shop Floor Web System integrated with DELMIA
Development and deployment of our production engineering enterprise system for optimized assembly method design processes at General Machinery & Special Vehicle Headquaters, producing forklifts and diesel engines.
While many companies efficiently deploy PLM in their top-down management styles, we are proceeding with our plans to improve the efficiency of production setup in bottom-up manner. In this session, I will introduce our “Management of production setup processes linked with BOM information,” “Methodology of optimized assembly processes and distribution of work instructions integrated with DELMIA,” and some additional topics.
